Challenge # 1 Make do and mend

Wie angekündigt habe ich mir für die erste Challenge die Reparatur eines Regency-Kleides vorgenommen.

Das scheußliche Original. Ich habe darin Achtziger Jahre Schultern. Das Oberteil stammt von einem kommerziellen Schnitt (Offensichtlich für ein Kostüm. Das Rückenteil ist viel zu breit und zu hoch. Das Oberteil musste weg und wurde durch ein akkurateres ersetzt. Rücken, Seite und Ärmel sind vom Elegant Lady's Closet Schnittmuster von sensibility.com, den Frontverschluss habe ich von einem Tageskleid Janet Arnolds "Patterns of Fashion 1" adaptiert.

Mit neuem Oberteil (with new bodice)

Der Stoff ist Baumwolle, der Nähfaden auch. Ich habe es mit der Maschine genäht, was es natürlich weniger akkurat macht. Das ganze hat mich etwa 4 Stunden gekostet und den Restmeter den ich von dem Stoff noch hatte. Ich hoffe es am Biedermeier-Ball am 1.Februar zu tragen, den der Verein Zeitentanz organisiert. Gekostet hat es mich nichts, da ich alle "Zutaten" noch übrig hatte. Es muss offensichtlich noch gebügelt werden :)

I made a Regency gown, quite a while ago from a commercial costume pattern. The original bodice was a catastrophe, so I used the leftover fabric to give it a new one. Obviously it needs ironing.

How historically acurate is it: Fairly acurate where the pattern and the fabric is concerned, but I used a sewing machine, and I am not quite sure about the colour.
Hours to complete: ca 4 hours
First worn: I will wear it to a Early 19th Century Dance in February
Total Cost: Nothing, I made it of left-overs
